Advanced Toenail Restoratiion and Care
Service Description
As we age, caring for our toenails can become increasingly difficult. What once seemed like a simple task—keeping nails trimmed and healthy—can turn into a challenge, leading to hardened or thickened nails, skin deterioration, and even the growth of bacteria and fungus. These issues are not just cosmetic; they can have serious consequences for your overall foot health. Regular pedicures are not a luxury—they’re essential for maintaining the health and vitality of your feet. As a Licensed Manicurist with extensive experience, I understand the concerns many have, especially when dealing with toenail fungus and thickened nails. If you or someone you love is struggling with these issues, you may wonder if a pedicure is still an option. The answer is yes, but it’s important to communicate openly about your condition. At Spray of Sunshine Glam Central Station and Spa, we prioritize transparency and strict hygiene standards. Our tools and equipment are meticulously sterilized between clients to ensure a safe and clean environment for everyone. Toenail fungus, or onychomycosis, thrives in warm, damp environments, often starting in the skin around the nail before burrowing deeper. Thickened toenails, which can result from aging, trauma, diabetes, and other conditions, are also a common concern. Treating these conditions at home can be frustrating because topical treatments often cannot penetrate the thickened nail surface. This is where professional care becomes crucial. With my specialized training, I can thin out the top layer of the nail using precise tools, allowing the medication to effectively target the fungus or address the thickening. It's also essential to consider your footwear. Fungus can linger in your shoes, creating a cycle of reinfection. I can guide you on how to properly sterilize or replace your footwear to prevent this. During your treatment, it's important to avoid applying polish to the affected nails to allow them to heal properly. You usually need at least two treatments 5-6 weeks apart, and it will take about 2 months from the first treatment to see results. If you have a parent or loved one who struggles with foot care—perhaps they find it difficult to reach their feet, are diabetic, or feel embarrassed about their condition—I would be honored to assist them. My approach is gentle and empathetic, creating a relaxing environment where they can feel at ease. Foot care s
